2025 Look of the Leader Recipients
These award spotlights allow us to recognize and celebrate those who inspire by example — people who give their time, skills, and heart to make a difference.
Community service often goes unnoticed, yet it forms the backbone of strong, thriving neighborhoods. The Maryville Lions Club recently honored two outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to their community. These recipients of the "Look of the Leader" Awards exemplify dedication, service, and leadership through their work with the Lions and beyond. Their stories highlight how individual efforts can create meaningful change.
Dr. Heather Ledbetter, Health Coordinator, Maryville City Schools
Dr. Ledbetter oversees the annual school health screenings, a critical program that ensures students receive timely vision and health checks. The Maryville Lions Club partners with the school district to conduct vision screenings during these events, making Dr. Ledbetter’s coordination essential.
Lana Pettis, Banking Officer and Executive Assistant, CBBC Bank
Lana took an active role in the Lions’ recent fundraising campaign, selling over 3 cases of pecans. 100% of the funds directly support vision screening and services the Lions provide in Blount County. Lana’s work demonstrates how personal motivation and community spirit can combine to create lasting impact.
